Our relationship with Novell predates the existence of Microsoft Windows. SuSE Open Enterprise Server v10 is the latest in the server platforms offered by Novell. It offers quick and simple load and deployment, ease of management, flexibility and above all reliability. In terms of cost of ownership, there is little to choose between SLES and the competition. Our choice to remain with Novell and change to the open source model has probably more to do with politics and ethics than technical features. The open source community is one of helpful, enthusiastic and friendly assistance rather than of hard heavy competition brought about by the close source model. Our deployments to date, have all proved to be trouble free, solid and reliable as their Netware predecessors. New innovations in open source products bring wider choice and great opportunities for time and cost savings.
